Countdown to Midnight– Best of My Own Sense of Fashion 2016

It’s that time of year again.  2016 was a busy year for My Own Sense of Fashion.  Each year we post an end of the year recap. We decided to switch it up for this year’s edition & selected a few of our most popular posts from 2016.   Curious to see which posts made the list? Here we go.

We started off this year with our 1st sponsored partnership with ShopStyle.  Not only was it a great opportunity, but we really learned a lot.  Receiving a beautiful necklace is an added perk.

It was written back in February and it is still one of our highest performing posts.  We were really surprised how many people responded so well to it.  This was our first time not only focusing on Chinese Designers but the Chinese New Year.

Of course, I couldn’t forget our Memorial Day Blog Swap with Plus Size Fashion Stylist & Style Blogger Nanthale Collins of N.E.C. Style.  It was our first time and really liked how both posts turned out. I love when I can collaborate with fellow bloggers.

Camera Ready with Christopher Kurk (Chris Kurk Photography)

This was one of our first interviews after taking a break.  We love highlighting different parts of fashion and have been wanting to interview a fashion photographer.  Apparently, our audience felt the same way.

This year we began accepting guest blogger submissions to My Own Sense of Fashion. Here is our 2nd submission and you guys really responded well. We will definitely be accepting more guest bloggers in 2017.

Lakmè Fashion Week Winter/ Festive 2016

Fashion Week recaps are one of my favorite posts to write. I have been covering Lakmè Fashion Week for only a few seasons.  One thing that sets this fashion week apart from the rest is the emphasis on Indian fashion.

I attended Mobile Fashion Week for the 1st time and served as one of the 2016 Official Bloggers.  I had a great time and met a lot of great people.  I look forward to attending next year’s event as well.

Pastry and Pastels -An Interview with Designer Shelby Rider

Speaking of Mobile Fashion Week, I had a chance to meet this awesome designer on the final night.  Our interview turned out really well. It was one of our highest viewed posts in 24 hours.

New York Style – An Interview with Model, Stylist and Creative Director Leon “Mr. Gumby” Freeney

For our last interview of the year, we dived into the world of fashion styling courtesy of the stylist himself. It was fascinating to hear from this perspective.

Closing out our list is a recap of this year’s show.  I am always interested in seeing the outfits and which Angel has the honor of wearing the Fantasy Bra.

Those are just a few of our most popular posts for the year.
We want to thank you the readers for sticking with us.  We are working on taking My Own Sense of Fashion to the next level in 2017.
