London Fashion Week 2015(Spring/Summer 2016 -A week in review (Images included)

On the heels of the end of New York Fashion Week comes London Fashion Week. Here are some of the collections that were showcased over the five days in London. Let's see what London fashion has to offer next spring.
Day 1(9/18/15)
Zandra Rhodes Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear

The stars of this collection of this collection are the hand –drawn prints (banana leaves, squiggles, and abstract landscapes). Another element featured is tennis which was communicated through tennis dresses, sparkly sneakers, and transparent visors.
Eudon Choi Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear

According to Choi, he wanted to focus on the elegant and easy beauty of the actual designs instead than the body for this collection. The silhouettes were left voluminous and designs were clean.
Day2 (9/19/15)
Orla Kiely Spring /Summer2016 Ready-to-Wear

The color palette consists of muted color palette such as Coral, Lime, and Lilac. The designer also included her secret passion of mini-golf throughout the show (golf course, clubs, and holes). I liked the inclusion of the headbands.
Simone Rocha Spring /Summer2016 Ready-to-Wear

The inspiration for this collection comes for the designer’s time in Japan. It was interesting how the Japanese influence was weaved through without using the obvious ones. The collection is very feminine and full of intricate designs.
Day 3 (9/20/15)
David Koma Spring /Summer2016 Ready-to-Wear

There is definitely no shortage of zippers when it comes to the designs. Koma states this collection presents a loose meditation on contemporary dance. Each look makes an impression without overshadowing one another.
Temperley London Spring /Summer2016 Ready-to-Wear

The theme for this collection was Havana. Viewers were able to pick up on the theme through the use of Cuban inspired prints and styles. As a hat fan myself, I especially loved the Cuban style hats that were included. It just completes the look to me.
Mary Katrantzou Spring /Summer2016 Ready-to-Wear

At first glance at this collection, my first thought was space. There are a lot of micro sequins, prints and metallic. You can’t forget about the Gypsy aspect of this collection (i.e. Roma gypsy dress). I will admit I wouldn’t have thought about putting these two design elements together. Strangely Katrantzou manages makes it work.
Day 4(9/21/15)
Antonio Berardi Spring /Summer2016 Ready-to-Wear

Distressed glamour was the theme for Berardi’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection. Solid looks are mingled alongside their colorfully printed counterparts. My favorite from this collection would have to be the black & printed looks.
Christopher Kane Spring /Summer2016 Ready-to-Wear

It was so much to highlight about this collection. Paint splats, jagged fabric, and cutouts made sure you took notice of each design. I was partial to the paint splattered looks from this collection. Overall, Kane successfully made sure to create a collection that would keep people talking.
Day 5 (9/22/15)
Christopher Raeburn Spring /Summer2016 Ready-to-Wear

The designer is keeping his commitment to being eco-friendly and this collection was no exception. Raeburn managed to insure this by upcycling, using locally sourced materials, and vegetable dyes. The designs didn’t suffer in the process. I liked the combination of colors particularly the black, yellow and white used for several looks. This collection was edgy yet, still wearable.
Victoria, Victoria Beckham Spring /Summer2016 Ready-to-Wear

This collection is full of bold and colorful prints and solid offerings. Big floral prints make up a good portion of this collection. It was very youthful and stylish. This collection is perfect for the woman who likes her fashion to be on the playful side and polished.
That’s just a portion of the collections that ruled the London runway. Next up on the schedule is Milan. Stay tuned.
