Last week we made a second stop in
Paris. This time around it was for Paris Couture Week. As usual,
designers presented their first-class collections for the Spring/Summer season. The week was jammed packed with what we have
come to expect from the couture world and
much more. Now you know we wouldn’t leave you hanging. Check out the collections and be sure to let
us know your favorites.
Day 2 (1/23/17)
Schiaparelli Spring 2017 Couture

It is always to interesting how Bertrand
Guyon brings his own interpretation to
the label. We weren’t disappointed in
the least. Our favorite looks are the cape and the heart featured jacket.
Christian Dior Spring 2017 Couture

This collection marks Maria Grazia
Chiuri’s first for Dior couture department. She also serves as the first female
creative director for the label.
Day 3 (1/24/17)
Chanel Spring 2017 Couture

“The Kaiser” is quoted by Vogue by
saying he loves feathers and they aren’t hard to miss throughout the collection. However, they are successfully not overused. I really like the use of the Art Deco mirrors.
We also really enjoyed the matching hats paired with the classic Chanel suits.
It was a nice nod to the past.
Armani Privé Spring 2017 Couture

Orange is the main colors used
throughout the collection in various shades. If you are a fan of the color than
you are in luck. Color choice aside the star of the collection is the 30s
inspired fashion.
Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2017
Couture

The designer took a different
approach to couture when it came to his collection. You don’t usually think of motorcycle
pant and couture together. However, it just works for this collection.
Day 4 (1/25/17)
Elie Saab Spring 2017 Couture

We were really loving this collection
and not only because of its various shades
of blue. The capes are gorgeously done and the beading on several looks was attention-grabbing.
Zuhair Murad Spring 2017 Couture

Fireworks and the television show Dynasty were two of the major
inspiration. Each look was more dramatic than the next yet manages not to cancel
out its predecessor.
Guo Pei Spring 2017 Couture

Interesting Fact- The couturier is
behind Rihanna’s buzzworthy 2015 Met Gala ensemble.
Marie-Antoinette & church murals from St. Gallen
Cathedral in Switzerland are just some of the elements used in this collection.
Day 5 (1/26/17)
Xuan Couture Spring 2017 Couture

This label is new to us but had it caught our attention. The designer told WWD that inspiration was
from her personal experiences and nothing much else. So we think it is pretty much up to your own
interpretation.
Galia Lahav Spring 2017 Couture

This collection marks the 1st
couture collection for the design duo. According to Sever via WWD inspiration was
pulled from the Victorian era and little-known
designer Jean-Marjorie Lacroix. Tulle
and lace were two of the main fabrics used for this collection.
