Black Bloggers Connect Hosts 4th Annual Blogger Week UnConference in Washington D.C

This week is the 2017 Blogger Week.  According to the press release, Blogger Week is a multicultural social media festival focused on providing bloggers and digital media professionals of color access to training, workshops and other skill-building events. This year, 25 Black digital media specialists will speak at the Blogger Week 2017 UnConference. Blogger Week is held in Washington, D.C. every year, drawing over 200 bloggers from across the country.

The unconference is hosted yearly by international blogger network, Black Bloggers Connect, an entity of Culture The Web.  The week kicked off with online events Monday, August 7th - Thursday, August 10th.   In-store events will start on Friday, August 11th.   Events include Blogger Week Networking Mixer on Friday, August 11th at Mulebone in downtown Washington, D.C. by the Black Public Relations Society of D.C. & The Blogger Week 2017 UnConference on Saturday, August 12th at Trinity Washington University.   For the full schedule of events & more information visit BloggerWeek.com.

Black Bloggers Connect was founded by Jessica Ann Mitchell Aiwuyor in 2011. Aiwuyor, a D.C. based writer, and multicultural communications specialist created the social network while earning her Master of Science in Public Relations at the prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Today, over 14,000 bloggers and digital media professionals receive support and training from Black Bloggers Connect.
