Lanvin names French Couture Designer Bouchra Jarrar as their new Artistic Director of Women’s Collections

Friday morning, it was officially announced French Couture Designer Bouchra Jarrar is the new artistic director of Lanvin’s Women Collections after rumored reports. The position was previously held by Albert Elbaz was ousted last October after 14th-year tenure for the brand.
As reported by WWD Jarrar will start her new position on Monday and is expected to unveil her first collection here this fall for the spring 2017 season.
“Her timeless style is in keeping with the style and values of our company,” said Lanvin chief executive officer Michèle Huiban. “Her talent, her high standards and her mastery of cuts and fabrics will bring a breath of freshness and modernity into the house, while respecting its soul as the oldest Paris couture house, a symbol of French elegance.”
Jarrar started her namesake Paris fashion house in January 2010. Prior to this, she served as studio director at Nicolas Ghesquière’s Balenciaga and head of couture design for Christian Lacroix.
