Tonight the Met Gala took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Hailed as one of the biggest night for fashion the red carpet serves as a who’s who in the world of fashion, film, and music. This year ‘s theme and exhibit is titled "Manus x Machina," explores the relationship between fashion and technology. Many of the celebs looked for literal interpretations of the chosen theme while some gravitated more towards the subtle approach when it came to their red carpet look. White was a favorite color for the red carpet. Of course, metallic made several appearances and in several versions as well. Here are some of the looks that graced the red carpet.
The Met Gala is an is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. It marks the grand opening of the Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibit. Each year's event celebrates the theme of that year's Costume Institute exhibition, and the exhibition sets the tone for the formal dress of the night since guests are expected to choose their fashion to match the theme of the exhibit. Each year the event also has honorary celebrity event day chairpersons.
